LIC HFL Junior Assistant Recruitment 2026 Online Application Form

LIC HFL Junior Assistant Recruitment 2026 Opens for 180 Posts Across India
LIC Housing Finance Limited has opened its Junior Assistant Recruitment 2026 drive, inviting online applications for 180 city-wise vacancies across multiple states. According to the official notification, registrations and fee payment began on April 16 and will remain open until April 30, while the online examination is tentatively scheduled for the first week of June 2026. The recruitment is being conducted through the company’s careers portal, where the detailed advertisement and apply-online option have been published.
The announcement is significant because it offers openings in a wide spread of cities rather than through a single pooled state list. LIC HFL has clearly said the recruitment is based on city-wise vacancies and merit, and candidates may apply for only one vacancy city. At the same time, the state chosen for the examination can be different from the vacancy state, while the interview state will remain the same as the vacancy state. That makes the process flexible for candidates who may want to take the written test from another state but are still competing for a specific city posting.
The vacancy distribution shows that the largest concentration of openings is in Karnataka with 29 posts, followed by Maharashtra with 25, Telangana with 24, Tamil Nadu with 21, Madhya Pradesh with 18, Uttar Pradesh with 13, West Bengal with 9, Andhra Pradesh with 8, Odisha with 7, Bihar with 7, Kerala with 3, Assam with 3, Chhattisgarh with 3, Delhi with 3, Gujarat with 2, and one post each in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, and Uttarakhand. The grand total mentioned in the notification is 180 posts, though LIC HFL has also noted that the number may increase or decrease depending on actual requirements and the availability of successful candidates after the interview stage.
At the city level, some of the higher vacancy locations include Bangalore with 23 posts, Hyderabad-Secunderabad with 19, Bhopal with 9, Mumbai-Navi Mumbai-Thane cluster with 8, Kolkata-Howrah-Chinsurah with 8, Cuttack-Bhubaneswar with 7, Chennai with 6, Meerut with 6, Patna with 5, Coimbatore with 5, Indore with 5, and Nasik with 5. The spread suggests that LIC HFL is hiring not just in metros but also in tier-two and smaller regional centers, which broadens the opportunity for applicants who prefer local or semi-urban postings.
In terms of job role, LIC HFL has described Junior Assistant work as a mix of back-office and customer-facing responsibilities. The official document says the post may involve loan processing, movement and scanning of files and documents, data entry work, follow-up for EMI in regular and default cases, recovery-related tasks, customer servicing, cash counter management, return of documents, and basic marketing activities. In other words, this is not a purely clerical desk job in a narrow sense. It appears designed as an operational support role tied closely to LIC HFL’s housing finance business.
The eligibility criteria are straightforward but not lenient. Candidates must be Indian citizens and must be between 21 and 30 years of age as on April 1, 2026. The notification further explains this with exact birth-date limits: applicants should be born not earlier than April 2, 1996 and not later than April 1, 2005, with both dates inclusive. Educationally, candidates must hold a graduate degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 55 percent marks from a government-recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the central government. LIC HFL has specifically said that courses completed through correspondence, distance, or part-time mode are not eligible.
Beyond graduation marks, the company has also insisted on computer literacy. The notification requires operating and working knowledge of computer systems, lists computer skills as necessary, and says work experience is preferred. That means fresh graduates may still apply if they meet the academic and computer requirements, but candidates with prior relevant exposure may be at an advantage, especially later during document scrutiny or interview discussions. The company has also clarified that the final result of the qualifying degree must have been declared on or before April 1, 2026. For CGPA or OGPA holders, marks must be converted into percentage as per university norms, and even 54.99 percent will be treated as below 55 percent.
For many applicants, salary will be one of the biggest reasons this recruitment has drawn attention. LIC HFL has published a city-category-based pay structure rather than a single nationwide amount. The annual total CTC ranges from ₹4,64,508 in Category III cities to ₹4,98,108 in Category I cities. Monthly total CTC ranges from ₹38,709 to ₹41,509 depending on city category. The net monthly pay, before applicable income tax effects beyond the listed deductions, ranges from ₹26,727 in Category III cities to ₹29,527 in Category I cities. In addition, the company has shown meal coupons of ₹5,040 per month in its example structure, though it has clarified that the meal coupon amount depends on working days and is not payable for leave days, weekly offs, or public holidays.
The pay package also includes more than just monthly salary. LIC HFL has said Junior Assistants will be eligible for gratuity, a staff housing loan scheme, and performance-linked incentives as per company rules. The notification further states that increments of up to 10 percent of basic pay may be given annually based on quarterly or annual performance. At the same time, the company has made it clear that lease facility and staff quarters are not available for this cadre. The probation period is six months from the date of joining, though it may be extended as per rules.
The selection process has two stages: an online examination followed by an interview. The online examination will be objective and multiple-choice in format, conducted in English language only, with a total duration of 120 minutes. It will contain 200 questions carrying 200 marks in total. The five sections are English Language, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness with special emphasis on the Housing Finance Industry, Numerical Ability, and Computer Skill. Each section carries 40 questions for 40 marks. This pattern signals that LIC HFL is looking for candidates who are balanced across language, aptitude, finance awareness, and basic digital readiness.
There is also a negative marking rule that candidates will need to keep in mind. The company has said one-fourth mark, or 0.25 of the marks assigned to a question, will be deducted for every wrong answer. No penalty will be applied for unanswered questions. Scores will be normalized if multiple sessions are held, and cutoffs may apply both at individual section level, if applicable, and on total score. Based on exam performance, candidates ranking high enough in merit will be called for interview. Final selection will then be based on the combined marks of the online examination and the interview, subject to minimum qualifying marks in the interview.
The schedule published by LIC HFL is tight. Online registration and fee payment opened on April 16 and will close on April 30. Call letters for the online examination are expected to be available seven to ten days before the exam. The examination itself is tentatively fixed for the first week of June 2026. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official LIC HFL website because the company has said updates, notices, and corrigenda will be posted there. The careers page on LIC HFL’s website currently shows both the detailed advertisement and the apply-online link for the Junior Assistants recruitment.
The application fee has been fixed at ₹800 for all candidates, with GST at 18 percent to be charged extra. The fee is non-refundable, and online mode is the only accepted mode of payment. LIC HFL has also said bank transaction charges, if any, will have to be borne by the candidate. In practical terms, applicants should not wait until the final day because payment delays, document-upload problems, or registration errors can still derail a form even when the notification period itself looks manageable.
On the application side, the company has prescribed standard but strict upload requirements. Candidates must scan and upload a photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration in English. LIC HFL has specifically said signatures in capital letters will not be accepted. It has also required that the handwritten declaration be written in the candidate’s own handwriting; otherwise the application may be treated as invalid. A valid personal email ID and mobile number must remain active throughout the recruitment process because exam and interview communications will be sent electronically.
The recruitment process also contains a strong verification framework. Candidates shortlisted after the exam will have to appear for interview with original documents, and those found ineligible at that stage will not be allowed to continue. Selected candidates will have to undergo medical examination at their own expense and will also face background verification checks. LIC HFL has reserved the right to terminate employment if adverse findings emerge from that verification process. On exam day, biometric data and candidate photographs will be captured for identity verification, and applicants have been instructed to ensure their fingers are clean and free from coatings like ink or mehndi to avoid biometric mismatches.
Another point worth noting is that LIC HFL has already issued a corrigendum to revise the names of certain cities mentioned in the original notification and the online examination centre list. The revised names include Bangalore/Bengaluru, Belgaum/Belagavi, Gulbarga/Kalaburagi, Mangalore/Mangaluru, Mysore/Mysuru, Ahmednagar/Ahilyanagar, Aurangabad/Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Mahbubnagar/Jadcherla. The correction does not appear to change vacancy numbers, but it is important for candidates filling forms carefully and matching city names while selecting preferences.
Overall, the LIC HFL Junior Assistant Recruitment 2026 stands out as a sizeable private-sector-style finance recruitment drive with a fairly wide geographic spread, a clear exam structure, and a published pay matrix. For graduates with at least 55 percent marks, basic computer proficiency, and interest in banking or housing finance operations, it offers an entry route into a recognized housing finance company with structured pay and performance-linked growth. But the competition is likely to be intense because the role is open across India, the eligibility pool is broad, and the number of posts, while substantial at 180, is still limited when measured against likely demand. Candidates who plan to apply would be wise to treat the April 30 deadline as firm, prepare for an English-only aptitude test, and watch the official LIC HFL careers page closely for admit card and further updates.
