Argentina’s National Social Security Administration, known as ANSES, has released the payment schedule for pensions, retirement benefits, the Universal Child Allowance and several other social-security programmes for August 2026. Payments will be distributed according to the final digit of each beneficiary’s National Identity Document, or DNI.

The August payments will include a 1.89% increase under the monthly mobility formula, reflecting the precise inflation figure used for social-security calculations. Argentina’s official statistics agency, INDEC, reported that consumer prices increased by 1.9% in June 2026, while the annual inflation rate stood at 33.5%. The small difference between the published inflation rate and the 1.89% adjustment is explained by the use of the unrounded figure in ANSES calculations.

Under Argentina’s current mobility system, pensions and eligible social allowances are adjusted every month using the Consumer Price Index from two months earlier. Therefore, June inflation determines the increase applied to August payments. This system was introduced under Decree 274/2024 to provide more frequent adjustments in a high-inflation environment.

In addition to the increase, the Government will continue the extraordinary pension bonus of up to $70,000 for retirees and pensioners receiving the lowest incomes. The bonus will be paid together with the regular monthly benefit and will not require a separate application.

Minimum Pension Rises to Around $489,800 Including Bonus

Following the 1.89% adjustment, the minimum monthly retirement benefit will rise to approximately $419,800 before the extraordinary bonus.

Beneficiaries who qualify for the full $70,000 supplement will therefore receive a total of approximately:

The $70,000 supplement is not added to every retirement payment. It is intended mainly for beneficiaries receiving the minimum pension and other low-income pension categories.

Retirees receiving an amount above the minimum may qualify for a partial bonus. In those cases, ANSES calculates the amount required to bring their total income up to the limit formed by the minimum pension plus the maximum bonus.

For example, a retiree whose ordinary pension is slightly higher than the minimum may receive only part of the $70,000 supplement. Those already receiving significantly higher pensions will not qualify for the additional payment.

The important point is that the $489,800 figure already includes the $70,000 bonus. It should not be interpreted as $489,800 plus another $70,000.

New PUAM and Non-Contributory Pension Amounts

The Universal Pension for Older Adults, commonly known as PUAM, is generally calculated as 80% of the minimum retirement benefit. Its base value for August will be approximately:

PUAM base amount: $335,820.73

Beneficiaries who qualify for the complete extraordinary supplement could receive approximately:

PUAM with the $70,000 bonus: $405,820.73

The base amount for eligible Non-Contributory Pensions, including certain disability and old-age pensions, will be approximately:

ANSES August Payment Calendar for Non-Contributory Pensions

Non-Contributory Pension beneficiaries will be among the first groups paid in August. The schedule is arranged in pairs according to the last digit of the DNI.

Payment Dates for Minimum-Pension Retirees

Retirees and pensioners whose regular benefits do not exceed the minimum payment threshold will begin receiving their money on August 10.

The extraordinary pension bonus will normally be deposited automatically alongside the monthly pension. Beneficiaries will not need to register separately or submit a special form to receive it.

Payment Dates for Pensions Above the Minimum

Retirees and pensioners receiving more than the minimum benefit will be paid during the final week of August.

Some early schedules circulating online listed August 22 as the first payment date for this category. However, August 22 falls on a Saturday. The calendar reported by multiple sources places the first payment for above-minimum beneficiaries on Tuesday, August 25, and the final payment on Monday, August 31.

AUH Will Also Receive an August Increase

The Universal Child Allowance, or AUH, will also be updated under the monthly mobility system.

Based on the July amount of approximately $148,049 and the August increase, the new AUH value will be:

Total AUH amount per child: $150,861.90

ANSES does not normally deposit the complete amount every month. Instead, beneficiaries receive 80% of the entitlement, while 20% is retained until the required health, vaccination and education documentation is submitted through the AUH Booklet.

Universal Pregnancy Allowance Payment Dates

Recipients of the Universal Pregnancy Allowance, or AUE, will be paid according to the following calendar:

Users must enter their CUIL number and Social Security Password. From the platform, they can review their payment date, download their benefit statement, check deductions and confirm whether the pension bonus or compatible family benefits have been included.

The Argentine Government also provides an online service through which beneficiaries can consult when and where their ANSES benefit will be paid.

Beneficiaries should check their individual statement before making financial decisions because the final amount may vary according to the type of benefit, income category, deductions, supplements and other payments received.

Why the August Increase Matters

Although the 1.89% adjustment increases the nominal value of pensions and allowances, its effect on household purchasing power will depend on the movement of essential expenses such as food, medicines, housing and utilities.

The monthly adjustment mechanism seeks to prevent a lengthy delay between inflation and increases in social-security payments. However, beneficiaries still receive compensation based on inflation from two months earlier rather than current-month prices.

For retirees receiving the minimum pension, the frozen $70,000 bonus remains particularly important. Because the bonus itself does not rise with inflation, the total income of a minimum-pension beneficiary grows by less than 1.89%.

For example, the percentage increase applies to the base pension of about $419,800, not to the combined total of $489,800. The bonus provides immediate support, but its real value gradually declines when prices continue to rise and the bonus remains unchanged.
