Train Movement Halted for an Hour after Car Falls from Flyover onto Tracks near Haiderpur Metro, Delhi

New Delhi: Train movement near Haiderpur Metro Station came to a halt for nearly an hour on Sunday morning after a sedan fell off the Mukarba Chowk flyover and overturned on the railway tracks. The Maruti Ciaz was later removed, allowing rail traffic to resume.
Police reported that the driver, a 35-year-old bakery owner from Pratap Vihar Railway Colony in Ghaziabad, lost control of the car while travelling from Peera Garhi towards Ghaziabad.
“The vehicle rammed into the pavement on Ring Road, broke through the boundary wall, slid down the embankment, and came to rest upside down on the tracks,” a senior officer said. The driver sustained minor injuries and informed police that he had swerved after losing control. Officials added that medical tests are being conducted to verify if he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
