Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, arrives in Amritsar; set to tour regions impacted by floods

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, arrived in Amritsar on Sunday as part of his visit to Punjab to assess the situation in flood-affected regions. His visit comes amid widespread damage caused by heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers, which have disrupted normal life and severely impacted agriculture and infrastructure in several districts.
During his tour, Gandhi is expected to meet with local residents and farmers who have suffered losses due to the floods. He will also interact with officials and relief workers to take stock of the ongoing rescue and rehabilitation measures. The Congress leader has consistently highlighted the importance of providing timely assistance to disaster-hit communities and is likely to raise the issue in Parliament to ensure adequate central support for the state.
