Heavy downpour triggers cloudburst in Dehradun; Tamsa river overflows, red alert issued

On Tuesday morning, Dehradun was issued a red alert following intense rainfall that triggered a cloudburst and caused the Tamsa river to swell, leading to flooding in parts of the city. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), extremely heavy showers are expected to persist in Dehradun and Tehri Garhwal until 9 am, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds of up to 87 km/h.
