Binance to End MOVR and GLMR Mainnet Support, Opens Base Network Migration for Users: Full Details

Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced a major network support update for Moonriver (MOVR) and Moonbeam (GLMR) tokens. The exchange will discontinue support for the Moonriver and Moonbeam mainnets and will move deposits and withdrawals of these tokens to the Base Network.

According to Binance’s announcement, the migration will be completed automatically for eligible users, and the exchange will manage the technical process. MOVR and GLMR tokens will be migrated from their respective mainnets to Base Network at a 1:1 ratio.

The move is part of Binance’s ongoing efforts to simplify network support and provide users with more efficient blockchain infrastructure.

Latest Update: Binance Stops MOVR and GLMR Mainnet Support

Binance has confirmed that it will stop supporting deposits and withdrawals through the Moonriver (MOVR) and Moonbeam (GLMR) mainnets.

The suspension will take effect at:

📅 Date: July 21, 2026
⏰ Time: 11:00 UTC

After this deadline:

Moonriver mainnet deposits and withdrawals for MOVR will no longer be available on Binance.
Moonbeam mainnet deposits and withdrawals for GLMR will no longer be available on Binance.
Users will need to use the supported Base Network for MOVR and GLMR transactions.

Binance has advised users to complete any pending deposits before the deadline to avoid delays or transaction issues.

MOVR and GLMR Migration to Base Network

As part of the update, Binance will migrate:

Moonriver (MOVR) tokens
Moonbeam (GLMR) tokens

from their original mainnets to the Base Network.

The migration will happen at a:

1:1 conversion ratio

This means:

1 MOVR token on Moonriver mainnet will become 1 MOVR token on Base Network.
1 GLMR token on Moonbeam mainnet will become 1 GLMR token on Base Network.

Users do not need to manually convert their tokens if they are holding assets on Binance.

The exchange stated that it will handle the technical requirements related to the migration process.

What Binance Users Need to Know

Binance users holding MOVR and GLMR should pay attention to the upcoming network change.

The most important points include:

1. Complete Deposits Before the Deadline

Users who want to deposit MOVR or GLMR through Moonriver or Moonbeam mainnets should complete their transactions before:

July 21, 2026, 11:00 UTC

Binance warned that deposits submitted close to the deadline may not be processed in time.

Blockchain transactions require confirmation time, and delays could result in deposits arriving after the network support ends.

2. Withdrawals Through Old Networks Will Stop

After the migration:

Moonriver mainnet will not be available for MOVR withdrawals.
Moonbeam mainnet will not be available for GLMR withdrawals.

Users will need to select the supported network option provided by Binance.

3. Binance Will Handle Technical Processing

One of the major points of the announcement is that Binance will manage the technical side of the migration.

This means users do not need to:

Manually swap tokens.
Perform complicated blockchain transfers.
Complete technical migration steps.

Binance will coordinate the process to ensure that user balances remain protected during the transition.

Trading Services Will Continue Without Impact

Binance confirmed that the migration will not affect several major services.

The following services will continue normally:

✅ Spot trading
✅ Margin trading
✅ Futures trading
✅ Binance Earn services

Users will still be able to trade MOVR and GLMR through Binance’s trading platforms.

The migration only affects:

Deposits
Withdrawals
Network support

It does not represent a suspension of trading activity.

Why Binance Is Making This Network Change

Cryptocurrency exchanges regularly update their supported blockchain networks to improve efficiency, security, and user experience.

Supporting multiple networks for the same token can create technical challenges, including:

Higher maintenance requirements.
Increased operational complexity.
Additional security monitoring.
User confusion between different networks.

By moving MOVR and GLMR support to Base Network, Binance aims to provide a more streamlined experience for users.

About Moonriver (MOVR)

Moonriver (MOVR) is a blockchain network connected to the Moonbeam ecosystem.

Moonriver was designed as a smart contract platform compatible with Ethereum tools and applications.

Key features of Moonriver include:

Ethereum-compatible smart contracts.
Support for decentralized applications (DApps).
Integration with the broader Polkadot ecosystem.

The MOVR token is used for network operations, governance, and transaction-related activities.

About Moonbeam (GLMR)

Moonbeam (GLMR) is a smart contract platform that connects Ethereum-based applications with the Polkadot ecosystem.

The network allows developers to use familiar Ethereum development tools while accessing features from the Polkadot network.

GLMR is used for:

Network governance.
Transaction fees.
Smart contract operations.
Platform participation.

What Is Base Network?

Base is a Layer-2 blockchain network designed to provide faster and cheaper transactions compared with traditional Ethereum transactions.

The network focuses on:

Lower transaction costs.
Faster processing.
Better scalability.
Support for decentralized applications.

The adoption of Base Network has increased as more cryptocurrency projects and exchanges explore Layer-2 solutions.

Impact on MOVR and GLMR Holders

For Binance users, the migration is expected to be mostly technical and should not directly affect token ownership.

However, users should remain aware of:

Selecting the correct network when making future deposits or withdrawals.
Avoiding transfers through unsupported networks.
Checking Binance announcements before completing transactions.

Sending tokens through an unsupported network may result in delays or possible loss of funds.

Binance’s Advice to Users

Binance has advised users to take necessary action before the migration deadline.

The exchange recommends:

✔ Complete pending deposits early.
✔ Check network options before transferring tokens.
✔ Follow official Binance updates for further information.

Users should avoid rushing transactions close to the deadline because blockchain confirmations can take time.

Crypto Market Reaction and Industry Impact

Network migrations are common in the cryptocurrency industry as blockchain technology continues to evolve.

Large exchanges like Binance frequently adjust their infrastructure based on:

Network performance.
Security considerations.
User demand.
Blockchain ecosystem changes.

The MOVR and GLMR migration reflects the broader trend of exchanges moving toward simplified and efficient blockchain support systems.

Final Update: What Happens After July 21, 2026?

After the migration process is completed:

MOVR and GLMR deposits and withdrawals through Moonriver and Moonbeam mainnets will no longer be supported on Binance.
Users will use Base Network for supported transactions.
Trading and Binance Earn services will continue normally.
Binance will complete the technical migration process.

Users holding MOVR and GLMR on Binance do not need to take manual action, but they should ensure they understand the new network support system before making future transfers.
