Pakistan batter fined by ICC for outburst during India Women’s World Cup game

Pakistan Batter Sidra Amin Reprimanded by ICC for Code of Conduct Breach During India Clash
Pakistan batter Sidra Amin has been officially reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women’s World Cup match against India.
Amin, who was Pakistan’s standout performer in the game, played a brilliant knock of 81 runs while chasing a target of 248. Despite her efforts, Pakistan failed to end their losing streak against India, who claimed their 12th consecutive Women’s ODI victory over their arch-rivals.
The incident took place in the 40th over of Pakistan’s innings, when Amin struck her bat forcefully onto the pitch after being dismissed. The act was deemed a breach of Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which pertains to the “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures and fittings during an international match.”
In addition to the reprimand, Amin received one demerit point—her first offence within a 24-month period. The charge was laid by on-field umpires Lauren Agenbag and Nimali Perera, along with third umpire Kerrin Klaaste and fourth umpire Kim Cotton. Amin accepted the sanction proposed by Shandré Fritz of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees.
Interestingly, Amin also made history during the match, becoming the first Pakistan batter to hit a six against India in Women’s ODIs. She looked poised for a century but was eventually dismissed while attempting to accelerate the scoring rate as wickets tumbled around her.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s World Cup campaign faces early trouble, as the team sits in the bottom half of the points table following two consecutive defeats—including a surprising loss to Bangladesh in their opening match. The Women in Green will now look to bounce back when they face Australia on October 8.
